Company ships its first container to the Philippines and expands its global presence. Initial expectation is to export 6,000 tires per year.
After consolidating its operations in the Latin American, U.S. and European markets, Rinaldi (Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul) is expanding into Asia. The Philippines is the first country in the continent to be added to its markets, with the shipment of the first container of products. The initial expectation is an annual export volume of approximately 6,000 tires, representing about US$ 150,000 in goods.
Rinaldi currently exports to 31 countries and plans to increase exports as a share of its net revenue from 12% to 20% by 2028. “The Philippines represents an important achievement for Rinaldi, as it reinforces our strategy of reaching 50 countries by 2028. We have products that can compete with any global brand, and we will continue to strengthen our position in the international market. We are certain that we will not stop here”, says André Ricardo Fiorese, the company’s Export Manager.
The executive also highlights the strengthening of relationships with international partners. “We recently held our international distributors’ convention at Rinaldi in Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul, and it was a success. Everyone left convinced that they are representing a major brand”, he says.
According to Renan Vicari, Rinaldi’s Export Analyst, the company’s entry into the Asian market is the result of its participation in EICMA — the world’s largest motorcycle and accessories trade show — held in November last year in Milan, Italy. “We made excellent contacts, which opened doors to this and other major business opportunities. We are beginning exports to a country strategically located near important markets such as China and Indonesia. This is an important step toward strengthening the brand’s presence in the region, highlighting our quality and performance”, he explains.
Vicari also emphasizes that the company is already seeking new partners on the continent. “We are prospecting new players in other Asian countries, and this year we will once again be at EICMA, expanding our network of contacts and opportunities”, he adds.
Regarding the challenges, the executive highlights the region’s high level of competitiveness. “The Asian market is extremely competitive, with dozens of brands, different levels of quality and different price ranges. It is a challenging environment that requires strategy and solid partnerships with distributors, but we are confident in Rinaldi’s potential”, he adds.
With 56 years of experience in the motorcycle tire and inner tube and agricultural and industrial tire industry, Rinaldi has a significant global presence. It is currently present in the following countries: Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Cuba, Latvia, Portugal, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Finland, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, the United States, Turkey, England, Poland and, now, the Philippines.
As part of its international strategy, Rinaldi maintains an active schedule of engagement with foreign markets. The international mission, led by Renan Vicari, includes two trips per year to visit at least 20 countries, with the aim of strengthening relationships with customers and understanding local demands. The primary focus is on the markets of Europe, Asia and Africa.
In addition to consolidating its presence in Asia and Europe, the company’s next steps include expansion into the Middle East and the African continent. Its internationalization strategy goes beyond geographic presence: Rinaldi also seeks to expand the portfolio of products it exports to markets where it already operates.
